If you believe that your business has been affected by congestion along the A27, now is your chance to have your say on the improvements you believe should be made to ease traffic. The A27 Action Group is calling on businesses across Coastal West Sussex and beyond to take part in an online survey by registering at www.a27action.co.uk. The survey will take just 10 minutes to complete and will ask for information about how your business travel is affected, the delays you may have experienced and your perception of the potential for investing in the A27.

The Action Group will include the findings in its case to persuade government that the road should be selected for funding ahead of a number of similar schemes in the UK. Following lobbying, it’s hoped the government will provide the funding required for tackling the A27 problems across West Sussex by improvements to the most congested areas and a bypass around Arundel. It’s believed the improvements would ease traffic around Chichester, Arundel and Worthing.

West Sussex County Council leader Louise Goldsmith said: “We really want to encourage businesses to take the time to fill in this survey. The more examples we can show of how the A27 restricts our local economy from growing, the stronger our case will be to lobby the government.”

Evidence is required by the end of August so that a business case can be handed to the government in the autumn. The chancellor will announce whether the scheme is still in the running for investment in his autumn statement.
