Claire Allaker, a PR and marketing professional, is celebrating after receiving the Sussex Business Woman of the Year Award 2013. It is a huge achievement for the 32-year-old who has devoted the last five years to growing her own business – Positive Reaction PR Limited. Claire was recently shortlisted for the Sussex Woman of the Year Awards, held on Friday 22nd November, and was competing against 16 other finalists in the business category. Amanda O’Rourke, Franchise Owner of Molly Maid in Horsham, presented Claire with the award during a black tie ceremony at the Hilton Avisford in Arundel. The event was organised by JP South Events and hosted by Olympic champion Sally Gunnell.

The business woman provides public relations and marketing support services to a range of clients in the region, including the Coastal West Sussex Partnership. She helps to raise awareness about our role in promoting economic growth and business development in the area. A panel of five judges selected Claire as the Business Woman of the Year as she has shown determination, drive and has made a real difference in her working environment.

Claire commented: “It was an honour to receive the award and a real milestone in my career. I launched Positive Reaction PR during tough economic times and I have faced challenges along the way. Now I feel like my hard work is really paying off and I am grateful to everyone who has supported me. I manage PR for some wonderful clients in Sussex and am busy planning activities for 2014.”
