A £40k grant will help to fund the Bognor Hub project which aims to support the creation of high value jobs in the creative digital sector. The project, led by West Sussex County Council, will see space at Bognor Regis railway station developed into shared workspace for businesses in the digital and creative sectors. It will provide space for start-ups and freelancers to co-work, share facilities and network and have access to support and training.
The digital hub is being developed in partnership with the University of Chichester and Arun District Council, with the creative leadership of celebrity fashion designer Wayne Hemingway and Hemingway Design – well known for their coastal regeneration projects.
This grant comes after the completion of the public realm improvements on the station and Southern Rail’s commitment to invest up to £2m in 2016, protecting and enhancing the heritage of the listed building whilst improving the whole area for rail passengers and pedestrians.
