Members of the Joint Western Arun Area Committee met this week (Wednesday 10th June) to discuss plans for an Engineering and Digital Technology Park at the University of Chichester’s Bognor Regis campus.
Professor Clive Behagg, Vice-Chancellor of the University, and Pete Tierney, Director of Estate Management, was expected to update the committee about plans for the technology park which will train 500 students per year.
As part of the Coast to Capital Local Enterprise Partnership’s Growth Deal with Government, the University of Chichester has been awarded £8million to launch the initiative.
Chairman of the Joint Western Arun Area Committee, Ann Rapnik, said: “This is an exciting scheme which will provide a huge economic boost for the town and its surrounding area. The economy is one of the County Council’s key priority areas so the committee is very much looking forward to hearing more about the initiative.”
The committee met at the John Parry Lecture Room at the Bognor Regis campus in Upper Bognor Road. Members of the public were invited to attend.
