The English National Park Experience Collection is the outcome of a collaborative project by nine of England’s National Parks – including the South Downs National Park. The English National Park Experience Collection will work with at least five experience providers in each of the participating National Parks and five accommodation providers in or near to participating National Parks.

The programme is one of the Discover England projects funded by Visit England.

The three-year £40million Discover England Fund, announced by Government in 2015, will ensure that England stays competitive in the rapidly growing global tourism industry, by offering world-class English tourism products to the right customers at the right time. The fund supports the growth of one of England’s most successful export industries, inbound tourism.

Tourism is an industry that delivers jobs and economic growth across the English regions – generating £106 billion a year and employing over two million people, with a strong domestic market. England has seen record tourism spend in the past year from both domestic and international visitors.

The English National Park Experience Collection offers the most outstanding visitor experiences in our most outstanding landscapes. It will make our National Parks stand out for England as an international tourism destination. The target markets are Australia and Germany (as they are currently the largest overseas visitors to our National Parks and are seen as highly sophisticated markets who are after a deeper connection to place and people when they travel).

Applications are now open for Lead Experience Providers and Accommodation Providers within the South Downs National Park.

Experience providers need to have 80% of their experience taking place in the Park, whilst accommodation providers need to be located in, or close to, the National Park.

Benefits include: business support, PR and marketing, partnerships, trade show representation, reaching new markets and become part of a bigger collection, closely linked with the National Park family.

If you’d like your business to be involved, apply by 18th May via: http://www.nationalparks.gov.uk/discoverengland.
