In March 2017, work began on a new £6m Enterprise Centre on Terminus Road in Chichester, to boost the local economy.

Now, just over a year later, the Chichester Enterprise Centre (a partnership between Chichester District Council and Basepoint Centres), is now open, offering 35,000 square feet of high quality workspace, including serviced and managed offices, workshops and shared workspace in a new purpose-built development for local businesses.

Easily accessible from the Chichester Bypass, the centre provides high quality managed workspaces, focused on supporting existing SME’s and new business start-ups. The office and and studio accommodation ranges between 150 sq. ft. and 500 sq. ft. and benefits from free parking, as well as being let on Basepoint’s flexible ‘Easy In, Easy Out’ terms.

The aim of Chichester Enterprise Centre is to help businesses access the support that they need and will also include working with local education providers and business support groups to offer support and mentoring schemes

Gillian Keegan MP, who at the time was the Cabinet Member for Commercial Services at Chichester District Council, said: “This dedicated, modern facility will enable businesses to grow and flourish, helping to create new, high quality jobs for local people.

“We want to encourage economic growth across Chichester and this project is a major part of the council’s encouragement of local business development. It will give a real boost to businesses over the next few years, which will be of real and lasting value in our area.”

The Enterprise Centre is a welcome development, as council research shows that the area is in need of a high quality development where local businesses can flexibly rent space.

“The centre will focus on the needs of small, medium and start-up businesses, with flexible easy-in, easy-out terms. Other benefits will include on-site management, serviced meeting rooms, high-speed internet access, free parking and business training and coaching.

“We have been looking forward to this exciting opportunity for some time and we are delighted to be part of an initiative to help develop a base for businesses and entrepreneurs to ensure the areas business community succeeds long into the future,” said Brian Andrews, Managing Director of Basepoint Centres Ltd who are managing the centre now it is open.

“As well as encouraging new talent and job growth, flexible working spaces contribute significantly to the economy,” Caroline Wood, Director of the Coastal West Sussex Partnership adds. “High quality commercial space is in short supply across the whole coastal area so this is an important and very welcome development. We hope that this will inspire other commercial development for local businesses to open throughout the region.”
