Chichester College Principal Shelagh Legrave OBE and a member of the CWS Partnership board has been appointed to serve as a Deputy Lieutenant for the County of West Sussex. The Lord-Lieutenant of West Sussex, Mrs Susan Pyper, made the announcement in November.
Shelagh, who is chair of the CWS Partnership skills and enterprise group, will join more than 36 Deputy Lieutenants spread across the county. Appointment to the office is in recognition of distinguished service to the community.
The honour is the latest to be bestowed upon Shelagh in 2015. Earlier this year she was awarded an OBE for services to Further Education in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List.
Shelagh said: “It is an absolute honour to be appointed as a Deputy Lieutenant for West Sussex. I am very much looking forward to assisting the Lord-Lieutenant in her duties.”
