Attracting visitors from across London and the wider South East, Experience West Sussex is a partnership project between West Sussex County Council and the coastal authorities of Adur, Arun, Worthing  and Chichester, including the Coastal West Sussex Partnership, and the South Downs National Park to showcase all our wonderful region has to offer.

Through active thematic campaigns highlighting the very best that West Sussex has to offer, people will be encouraged to visit West Sussex and appreciate all the delights of the county, whilst staying longer and experiencing more, in turn benefitting the wider visitor economy.

Last year, the Experience West Sussex campaign was estimated to have generated an economic impact of £2 million – attracting residents, day trippers and overnight visitors to stay longer, spend more and enjoy the best of the region.

“Experience West Sussex is a fantastic example of partnership working,” Caroline Wood, Director of the Coastal West Sussex Partnership, says. “Focusing on promoting all our region has to offer, the project attracts visitors from London, the South East and beyond, as well as those from within West Sussex, to explore our seaside towns, our beautiful countryside and historic places of interest.

“Through actively promoting and showcasing all West Sussex has to offer, the opportunity is there to encourage visitors to stay longer, spend more and come beyond just the summer months, making the region a destination to see throughout the seasons and in turn, generating more income for our local attractions, accommodation and restaurants, all year round.”

Experience West Sussex does this primarily through social media campaigns, its website and by promoting and showcasing local businesses to new markets. In 2017, the campaign reached over 35,000 social media followers, featured over 230 businesses and had over 6.7 million impressions promoting the county.
