Coast to Capital Local Enterprise Partnership LEP is pleased to announce the launch of its new Enterprise Adviser pilot to support local careers education in schools and colleges across Coastal West Sussex. Delivered through the Careers and Enterprise Company the scheme will create connections between local businesses and schools and colleges. The aim of the pilot is to enhance the skills landscape and support growth in the area.
The programme will be led by Georgina Angele, Enterprise Co-ordinator, on secondment from LoveLocalJobs.com for a year and she will cover Coastal West Sussex and Greater Brighton. Georgina will be responsible for building a network of Enterprise Advisers, volunteers from business and other employers, large and small, who will work directly with the leadership of individual schools and colleges to develop effective careers and enterprise strategies.
Kirsten Trussell, Skills Development Manager at Coast to Capital LEP, says: “We are extremely pleased that Georgina will be leading this pilot project and using her existing wide-ranging connections with the education, public and business sectors to bring about excellent results and a successful pilot.”
Georgina added: “Inspiring and supporting the talent pool of young people to enter into the world of work, apprenticeships, further and higher education has always been close to my heart. Business demand for specific skills and expertise changes fast, so having local employers helping to inform and shape the careers & enterprise strategy and curriculum and bring their businesses into our classrooms is the key to success; both for young people and the region’s businesses.”
