Bognor Regis has been shortlisted in the Great British High Street Awards 2015 in the Coastal Communities Category. Out of 230 applications there were just 21 finalists selected, so the competition is tough. In the Coastal Communities Category, Bognor Regis faces competition from Prestatyn in Wales and Amble in Northumberland. You can vote for Bognor Regis as your best loved high street online at www.thegreatbritishhighstreet.co.uk.
If Bognor Regis wins, not only will they get a share of a prize pot worth £80,000, but they’ll win expert training and tailor-made tips from Google’s training taskforce – the Digital Garage on Tour – for one hundred of their shops, bars and restaurants.
Toyubur Rahman, Bognor Regis Town Centre Manager who led the entry for the competition said: “We’re proud of Bognor Regis for being recognised for the journey the town is on and we hope this will be a real boon for the town. We’re going to be pulling out all the stops to make sure local people know about Bognor Regis’s shortlisting. Now we just need everyone to show their support and get voting.”
Alongside the public’s votes shortlisted towns will also be inspected by the Future High Streets Forum judging panel – made up of industry leaders from across retail, property and business.
Please cast your vote before the end of October 2015 by visiting the Great British High Street website www.thegreatbritishhighstreet.co.uk
