Top Seaside Destinations
A study by the Office of National Statistics (ONS) identifies Worthing, Bognor Regis and Littlehampton as some of the top seaside destinations in England. Large seaside resorts were analysed as part of the Government report which reveals that destinations along the coast of West Sussex are among the least deprived.
The ONS investigated deprivation in employment, income, health and disability, education, skills and training, housing and services, crime and living environments. Worthing, Bognor Regis and Littlehampton fare better than other well-known resorts such as Blackpool.
As a whole West Sussex resorts along with Brighton and Bournemouth were ranked well, with the most deprived being listed 1st. Worthing is ranked 28th out of 31 large seaside destinations for levels of deprivation. Bognor Regis is ranked 26th and Littlehampton is close by at 25th.
